what is it?
Tetradecane is an organic compound that is a straight chain alkane consisting of 14 carbon atoms. In organic chemistry, tetradecane is considered to be a hydrocarbon lipid (fat) molecule. Tetradecane is made from vegetable derived paraffins by fractional distillation to produce high purity, linear, single cut alkanes. This ingredient is a mild, alkane, and waxy tasting compound and can be found in a number of food items such as sweet bay, summer savory, green bell pepper, and lemon balm.
what does it do?
Tetradecane is used in BRAHSTON products because it is an excellent functional substitute for synthetic petrochemical alkanes. Tetradecane acts to help improve the absorption and feel of some of BRAHSTON’s formulas.
