Sclerocarya birrea seed oil comes from the plant more commonly known as the marula fruit tree.
Marula is native to southern Africa. It has long been considered sacred, and in ancient times was associated with fertility and happy marriage. Today, it is used in both food, cosmetics and medicine. The oil is extracted from the fruit of the tree’s kernels or outer husk.

BRAHSTON uses Sclerocarya birrea seed oil (marula oil) in our products because it is a non-fragrant plant oil that is full of beneficial compounds for the skin. Marula oil contains protein, fatty acids, and antioxidants. Furthermore, it is very easily absorbed, making it effective in topical products.
