olive squalane
what is it?
Olive squalane is a non-oxidated version of olive oil squalene hydrogenated so that it is light and stable. Squalene is found naturally in the human skin as a lubricant and barrier.
what does it do?
BRAHSTON uses olive squalane in our products because it is full of antioxidants and fatty acids. This ingredient makes an excellent emollient in that it is a chemically inert, odorless, lightweight and white powder that combines well with other ingredients in most cosmetic formulas.
As a plant-derived alternative to shark liver oil of the past, this high-end ingredient is found in many top quality skincare brands as it mimics the skin’s naturally produced squalene found the the sebum.
